The Centre for Culture “Mihailo Lalić” (the Centre) has, since its establishment, been a pillar of the cultural and sports life of the Municipality of Andrijevica. Through the implementation of planned activities, we preserve a rich tradition while also opening the door to contemporary artistic trends and creative expression. Through diverse programmes and events, we strive to connect people, inspire young talents, and enrich the everyday life of all generations.
The open concept of our work enables the cultural offer to be dynamic and accessible to everyone—both the local community and visitors from other municipalities in Montenegro and the wider region, as well as our large diaspora. The Centre’s activities are numerous and include the organisation of various events, educational programmes, sports activities, and the promotion of literature, film, and visual arts. Everything we do is guided by one goal—to make Andrijevica recognised as a place where culture lives. In pursuit of this goal, we implement the following programmes:
Andrijevica Culture and Sports Days – the central annual event held every July on the occasion of the Municipality Day, bringing together cultural, sports, and entertainment programmes.
Exhibitions, concerts, and theatre performances – regular guest appearances by artists from Montenegro and the region, as well as the promotion of local creative work.
“Show What You Can” – a programme designed for children and young people, featuring recitation, music, and drama sections, aimed at nurturing and promoting talent.
Creative workshops (visual arts, music, drama) and seminars for talent development, conducted in collaboration with schools and cultural professionals.
Organization of sports tournaments and recreational activities, especially as part of the “Andrijevica Culture and Sports Days” event.
Library – the successor of the reading room established in 1892, along with cinema screenings of films and documentaries.
Guest performances by ensembles and artists from the region, as well as showcasing local creative work to a wider audience.
Collaboration with ministries responsible for culture and sports, local government, NGOs, educational institutions, and tourism organizations.
Support for young people in developing creative businesses and industries (from design, music, film, and digital media to handicrafts). The Centre provides mentorship and promotion of their ideas, aiming to foster a new generation of cultural entrepreneurs.
Our activities are not just programmes—they are a bridge between the past and the future, between tradition and contemporary artistic expression. Every event, workshop, or project aims to enrich the life of the community and provide opportunities for creative expression.
The Centre remains committed to the idea that culture should be accessible to everyone. We invite you to be part of our events, to help us build a space where art, sport, and community make Andrijevica a distinguished name on the cultural map of Montenegro and the region, offering everyone the opportunity for further artistic development.
