The Ministry of Culture and Media has supported the “Paths of Cultural Heritage” project, implemented by the “Mihailo Lalić” Centre for Culture and Sports in Andrijevica, in partnership with “Bajo Jojić” Primary School.
The project is designed as an interdisciplinary, participatory, research and educational programme that brings together education, cultural institutions and the local community. Its aim is to enable students to explore Andrijevica’s cultural, historical and natural heritage through direct research, while also becoming active researchers, authors, guides and interpreters of their local heritage.
Particular attention will be given to the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Andrijevica and the Vasojevići region – from archaeological and architectural sites, oral traditions, traditional dances and folklore, to traditional crafts and gastronomic heritage.
One of the key outcomes of the project will be the establishment of a mini cultural heritage route, offering a contemporary interpretation of selected heritage sites. The project includes the development of informative materials, QR codes, digital maps, audio guides and video content, making the cultural heritage more accessible to students, citizens, visitors and tourists.
Through field research, workshops and project-based learning, students will collect and process information, interview older members of the community and bearers of intangible cultural heritage, and document traditions, stories, customs and other elements of local heritage. In this way, the project encourages intergenerational knowledge exchange, develops young people’s research, digital, communication and creative skills, and strengthens their sense of belonging to the local community.
During the implementation of the project, educational and creative workshops, guided visits and a public presentation of the project results will be organised. The activities will also be promoted through local media, the partners’ websites and social media channels.
The support of the Ministry of Culture and Media represents an important contribution to the implementation of the project and confirms the importance of programmes aimed at preserving and promoting cultural heritage through contemporary approaches, with a particular emphasis on the active involvement of children and young people.
The “Paths of Cultural Heritage” project seeks to bring local heritage closer to new generations and transform it into a space for learning, research, creativity and community connection.
