At the “Mihailo Lalić” Center for Culture and Sports in Andrijevica, a ceremonial promotion of the book Blagoje Jovović – A Serbian Hero in the Wolf’s Den by author Marija Jovović was held.
The event was opened with a welcoming address by Ivan Radojević, Director of the Public Institution “Mihailo Lalić” Center for Culture and Sports, who greeted the audience and emphasized the importance of organizing cultural events that preserve the culture of remembrance and safeguard historical memory.
The event was jointly organized by the “Mihailo Lalić” Center for Culture and Sports, the Vasojevićka Riječ magazine, and the Association of Vasojevići of the Coast and the Bay of Kotor.
This important publication presents an authentic account of the life and historical role of Blagoje Jovović. His name remains permanently engraved in the history of the Serbian people as a symbol of perseverance, national dignity, and an uncompromising commitment to historical justice.
During the evening, the audience heard from several distinguished speakers who highlighted the historical, personal, and social significance of the book.
Marija Jovović, the author of the book and daughter of Blagoje Jovović, shared personal memories of her father, spoke about the inspiration behind writing the book, and emphasized the importance of preserving the truth about his life and legacy.
Historian Filip Lutovac provided an expert analysis of the historical circumstances described in the book.
Historian, writer, and journalist Goran Kiković spoke about the importance of preserving the culture of remembrance and honoring the memory of individuals whose actions have left a lasting mark on the history of the Serbian people.
The promotion was held in a dignified and ceremonial atmosphere, attracting considerable public interest and giving attendees the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the life and legacy of Blagoje Jovović, one of the most significant figures in twentieth-century Serbian history.
