Within the framework of the project “Together with Youth for a Stronger Local Economy”, supported by the Ministry of Regional-Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations, and implemented in partnership with NGO Šansa, a seminar titled “Get Involved for Development – Seminar on Participation in Local Economic Policies” was successfully held today in Andrijevica.
The seminar brought together representatives of the local community and interested citizens with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of active participation in shaping economic policies at the local level. Through open dialogue and exchange of experiences, participants had the opportunity to better understand decision-making processes and ways in which they can contribute to the development of their community.
The seminar was attended by Member of Parliament Dragana Vučević, Advisor to the President of the Municipality of Andrijevica Miloš Čukić, Deputy Mayor of Andrijevica Miodrag Čukić, as well as Miloje Bakić, Deputy Director of the Center for Culture and Sports “Mihailo Lalić” Andrijevica. They engaged with participants in discussions about the importance of citizen involvement in decision-making processes, improving local economic policies, and creating better conditions for community development. Challenges faced by local communities were also addressed, along with opportunities to enhance economic growth through greater citizen participation.
During the seminar, it was emphasized that sustainable local development is not possible without cooperation between institutions and citizens, and that active community involvement is the key to creating better economic opportunities, new initiatives, and strengthening trust between citizens and decision-makers. Participants showed great interest in topics related to local development, employment, entrepreneurship, and improving living standards.
The seminar demonstrated how crucial education, dialogue, and joint action are for the development of local communities. Events like this represent an important step towards empowering citizens to actively participate in processes that shape the future of their municipalities and contribute to building a more responsible and inclusive society.
