A rich film program awaits you on March 26 at the Public Institution Center for Culture and Sports “Mihailo Lalić.” After the scheduled screening of the children’s film “Tom and Jerry – The Magic Compass” at 6 p.m., older citizens can watch the film “The Harvest.”
Synopsis
The film “The Harvest” follows the astonishing true story of German baron Johan von Wagner, who, after undergoing an illegal heart transplant, begins to experience disturbing dreams and visions. Burdened by memories that do not belong to his life and a responsibility he cannot ignore, Johan embarks on a personal and dangerous quest for the truth. His journey leads him to Kosovo and Metohija, where he confronts the dark reality of illegal organ trafficking connected to the notorious “Yellow House.” Meeting the family of the man whose heart beats in his chest—the mother, wife, and young son Milan—further strengthens Johan’s determination to try, even if too late, to correct an injustice.
The creative, acting, and broader team behind “The Harvest” consists of domestic and international film professionals. The screenplay, inspired by Veselin Dželetović’s novel “Serbian Heart Johan’s”, was written by American director, producer, and actor Paul Kampf, who also directed the film. The co-director is Serbian filmmaker Mladen Šević.
The director of photography is the acclaimed Radan Popović, who has successfully worked in Hollywood for 30 years, while the music was composed by Goran Bregović. Bregović wrote more than 10 themes for “The Harvest”, which strongly color the emotional narrative of the story.
The film features an international cast, including Matthew McNulty, a British actor of German origin, in the role of Johan; Angus Macfadyen, a Scottish actor known to local audiences for his role in the famous film “Braveheart”; Paul Murray; Rebecca Calder; as well as Serbian actors Jovana Gavrilović, Sergej Tutić, Jasmina Avramović, Aleksandar Jovanović, Sara Cizelj, Jovan Veljković, Vahid Džanković, Radoje Čupić, and many others.
It is a thriller, which premiered on March 17, 2026.
